Construction time and curing cycle are the primary concerns of most users when using self-leveling epoxy floor paint. Many renovation projects are delayed due to unclear curing time, and improper use in the curing period will also cause floor scratches, bubbling and other problems. Understanding the accurate drying and curing time of epoxy floor paint can reasonably arrange the construction schedule and ensure the floor construction quality.
The drying and curing process of self-leveling epoxy floor paint is divided into three stages: surface drying, hard drying, and complete curing. Under normal temperature and ventilated environment (20-25℃), the surface drying time is about 4-6 hours, and the surface will no longer stick to hands, which can avoid dust adhesion. But at this stage, the paint film is not completely hardened, and trampling and collision are prohibited.
The hard drying time is about 12-24 hours. After hard drying, the floor surface is completely hardened, which can bear light walking and simple cleaning, but it cannot bear heavy pressure, furniture placement and friction. Most DIY users can carry out subsequent auxiliary decoration work after hard drying, which greatly improves the renovation efficiency.
The complete curing time is 48-72 hours. After full curing, the epoxy floor paint completely forms a hard, wear-resistant and waterproof protective film, which can bear normal trampling, furniture placement and daily use. It should be noted that low temperature and high humidity environment will prolong the curing time, while our fast-curing epoxy formula effectively shortens the cycle, meeting the rapid renovation needs of home and commercial projects.
